What is Datawrapper used for?
Datawrapper is a user-friendly, open-source web tool that you can use to create basic interactive charts. By loading your CSV dataset into Datawrapper you can make a chart or a map that can be embedded onto a website. Among others, you can generate pie charts, line charts, bar charts (horizontal and vertical) and maps.
What is map visualization?
Map visualization is used to analyze and display the geographically related data and present it in the form of maps. This kind of data expression is clearer and more intuitive. We can visually see the distribution or proportion of data in each region.
How do you present data on a map?
The best method of data presentation on the map is using colour schemes (darkest/lightest elements put on display for the eye), various shape sizes (biggest elements put on display), or a combination of the two.

When was Datawrapper created?
The idea for Datawrapper came about in 2012 when a journalist named Mirko Lorenz teamed up with developer Gregor Aisch. Mirko was doing a lot of data training and didn’t have an easy way to develop charts, graphs and maps. So that’s how it began.

How do I publish a Datawrapper?
To share or embed a Datawrapper visualization in your own site, you need to publish it first. You can do in step 4: Publish & Embed of every Datawrapper table, chart, or map. Simply click on Publish now: After clicking on Publish now, Datawrapper will take a second or two to prepare your chart for publication.
How do I upload a map to Datawrapper?
In Datawrapper, click on “New Map”, then choose the map type you want to create. Then select your map file by clicking on the “Upload Map” button. Once uploaded, the map will appear in the preview on the right side.
How do I make a real time map?
You can use Live View navigation during the walking portion of any type of trip.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
- In the search bar, enter a destination or tap it on the map.
- Tap Directions .
- Above the map in the travel mode toolbar, tap Walking .
- In the bottom center, tap Live View .
