What is Sideline app used for?

Is Sideline better than Google Voice?
However, Sideline is better for solopreneurs and small, mobile teams, whereas Google works well for companies needing advanced call management tools. Google Voice outperforms Sideline when it comes to call handling, analytics and reporting, mobility, and call handling.
Does Sideline work on WiFi?
Yes, Sideline supports the option to place calls over WiFi, but we are not a VoIP-only service. We use your cellular data to connect calls. To use WiFi to place calls, please enable the VoIP Calling feature within your Sideline Settings.
How does Sideline number work?
Sideline numbers were designed to help you keep your business and personal life separate on one device. When you place a call through Sideline, your receiver will see your Sideline number, not your registered number or pilot number. Sideline does not allow you to block your Caller ID.
Can I use Sideline number for WhatsApp?
While WhatsApp requires your phone number to sign up, there’s nothing to stop you from using an alternate or burner phone number to effectively “hide” your real number.
How do Sideline calls appear on phone bill?
Text messages and/or calls to or from Sideline will not show up on your phone bill. However, you will see two numbers on your bill related to your Sideline account. These are called your pilot numbers. One number is for incoming calls and the other is for outgoing.
Is Sideline a VoIP number?
Sideline is a second line app that allows you to separate your business and personal texts and calls while carrying just one phone. Like GoDaddy’s SmartLine and Grasshopper, Sideline is unlike GoogleVoice and does not use VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and instead uses the cellular network.
How many numbers I can have with Sideline?
No, Sideline plans do not allow you to have multiple numbers (i.e. a 2nd, 3rd number, etc) on a single account/device. Only one account is allowed per registered number/device.
Is Sideline encrypted?
Sideline does not support end-to-end encryption of text messages, however, our servers are encrypted. What this means: Your message is secure from the time you send it to when it hits our servers. This is referred to as ‘on-net messaging’ which means that we have control over the encryption.
Can I FaceTime with Sideline?
Sideline does not offer video calling. Video calling is generally only supported by the contacts who also have the same service on their device. Some examples include: FaceTime for iOS devices.
Is Sideline still free?
Sideline is a paid service. Subscriptions are automatically billed monthly or annually to your iTunes Account and auto-renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24-hours before the end of the current period.
Can I have 2 phone numbers on 1 phone?
Use a Dual SIM Device
This is your most obvious choice when getting two lines on one cell phone. The good news is that dual SIM capabilities are common features in a lot of phones. Most Android devices sold around the world have both single and dual SIM variations.
Can you have a landline and cell phone with the same number?
If you want to keep both the landline and the cell phone number, things get a bit complicated. You could get a second cell phone, and have the landline number transferred to it. You wouldn’t need to actually carry both phones — you could have all calls to the second phone forwarded to the first phone.
What is a Google Voice number?
Your Google Voice number lets you make and receive calls at voice.google.com or on the Google Voice app. You can also link phone numbers you want to forward calls to if you don’t want to answer with Google Voice. When call forwarding is set up, calls to your Google Voice number will ring your linked phones.
